Elon Musk’s new artificial intelligence company, xAI, will share its first AI model with a small group of people this Saturday. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, announced this on Friday.
Almost a year ago, ChatGPT from OpenAI captured the attention of companies and people worldwide, leading to a big increase in the use of generative AI technology.
Musk helped start OpenAI, the company responsible for ChatGPT, in 2015. However, he left the company’s board in 2018.
Elon Musk mentioned, “In some important respects, it (xAI’s new model) is the best that currently exists.”
Elon Musk, a billionaire known for his criticism of Big Tech’s AI projects and censorship, announced earlier this year his plan to create a maximum truth-seeking AI. This AI aims to explore the mysteries of the universe, competing with Google’s Bard and Microsoft’s Bing AI.
The xAI team, which started in July of this year, includes experts from Google’s DeepMind, the company that developed Windows, and other leading AI research organizations.
While X, the social media company previously known as Twitter, is owned by Musk and separate from xAI, these two companies maintain a close collaboration. xAI also partners with Tesla and other businesses.
Larry Ellison, one of the co-founders of Oracle and a self-proclaimed close friend of Musk, revealed in September that xAI had agreed to train its AI model using Oracle’s cloud platform.
