WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform, is constantly adding new features for its users. Joining the AI wave, the Meta-owned app has now introduced a chatbot.
This fascinating feature is being tested and accessible to select users in Pakistan and other countries, such as India. This chatbot is designed to offer automated assistance directly within the app (WhatsApp).
Entering the AI race alongside other tech giants, the messaging platform has introduced a chatbot featuring a search bar function. This innovation enables users to communicate using a search engine within the app directly.
This feature aims to assist users in discovering new content, such as searching for images of clouds, beautiful skies, and unique emojis for their videos and pictures.
Despite these recent additions, the company assures users that interactions with Meta AI within WhatsApp will remain private and secure, with no query sharing to maintain data confidentiality.
WhatsApp also guarantees end-to-end encryption, safeguarding the privacy of personal messages and calls.
How to Start a Chat With Meta AI on WhatsApp
To begin a conversation with the Meta AI feature in WhatsApp, follow these steps:

- If prompted, read and accept the terms.
- Choose a suggested prompt from the screen or type your own.
- Tap the send button to initiate the conversation.
Interestingly, WhatsApp also allows users to provide feedback on Meta AI-generated responses. Users can tap and hold the AI-generated responses, then choose between ‘Good response’ or ‘Bad response.’ Additionally, users can type a reason for their feedback before submitting it.
Meta states on the WhatsApp FAQ page that “some messages generated by AIs might not be accurate or appropriate.”
Meta recently unveiled Llama 2, the next iteration of its large language model designed for generative AI assistants. Moreover, Llama 3 is anticipated to be released in the upcoming weeks.
